Two killed in accident

ERODE: Two persons including a panchayat ward member died when the car in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a bus on Sunday.

According to police, the car was proceeding from Kattupudur near Tirupur to Dharapuram.

Anandhashanmugam (31) was driving the car and his brother's wife Ms. Bhoopathy (32), the ninth ward councillor of Kattupudur panchayat, was also in the vehicle.

When the car came near Idayankinaru village, it was involved in a collision with a bus coming in the opposite direction. Anandhashanmugam died on the spot while Ms. Bhoopathy died after admission to the Dharapuram Government Hospital.

Kundadam police have registered a case and further investigation is on.
