`Time to make way for the youth'

BANGALORE: Union Minister of State for Planning M.V. Rajasekharan on Monday suggested that senior leaders should make way for the youth in the party.

"I am turning 79. At this age, I feel that we should retire and make way for the youth," he remarked. Party workers and office-bearers welcomed his statement with a huge round of applause.

"We can show our respect to Rajiv Gandhi, who believed in youth leadership, by making way for the youth," he said.
