Five TDP leaders suspended

HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party has suspended five leaders of Adilabad for showing indiscipline in the organisational elections in the district on Sunday. They are Tirupathi, president of Asifabad mandal, Shankar Goud and Prasad Goud, former presidents of Tiryani and Asifabad mandals respectively, and P. Suresh and Dinakar Vasu, active members of Bellampally, according to a press release.

CPI(M) cadres gherao district Collector

MAHABUBNAGAR: In continuation of their struggle for houses sites, CPI(M) activists assembled in large numbers at the district Collectorate and gheraoed district Collector V. Usha Rani on Monday. The Collector was able to proceed to her office only after the police intervened. — Staff Reporter

Police check on autos

ADILABAD: The town traffic police launched a drive to remove extra seats from autos. Extra seats from over 50 autos were removed on Monday.

The drive assures importance in view of reopening of schools shortly.

Rs. 32 cr. for apprentice teachers

HYDERABAD: The Government has released Rs. 32.72 crore for granting promotion scales to apprentice teachers giving weightage to their two years of service. Andhra Pradesh Progressive Recognised Teachers' Union said in a press release on Monday that it would benefit 75,000 apprentice teachers. Special Correspondent
