dated May 23, 1957: Examination reform

A number of reforms aimed at improving the system of examinations in educational institutions were under consideration of the Government, Dr. Shrimali, Minister of State for Education, told Mr. Bhibhuti Misra in the Lok Sabha on May 21. These included introduction of internal assessment, of cumulative record cards, of objective tests and changing the type of conventional questions. It was, however, not possible to indicate how soon these would be implemented as it would depend on the response from the State Governments.
