dated May 23, 1957: Last journey of Prakasam

The mortal remains of Mr. T. Prakasam, the Andhra leader, who passed away on May 20, were cremated on May 21 at 6 p.m. at the Amberpet crematorium in Hyderabad with full State honours. The funeral pyre was lit by his son, Mr. T. Hanumantha Rao, as the police fired three volleys and the bugle sounded the last post, to the accompaniment of muffled drums.
