BANGALORE: Low-cost carrier Air Deccan has introduced a monsoon advisory for passengers who intend to travel between June and September. It will alert passengers about possible flight disruptions due to adverse weather conditions. A press release from the airline said unfavourable weather conditions such as heavy rain, thunderstorms or cyclonic winds could lead to flights being delayed, rescheduled, cancelled or diverted to other stations. Passengers intending to fly during the monsoon months have been advised to check their flight schedule before leaving for the airport and ensure a suitable time gap for boarding connecting flights. The airline has activated a centralised round-the-clock monsoon response helpline to minimise the impact of disruption in service. Passengers can call 39008888, prefixing the city code, to find out the latest flight schedule. Regular SMS alerts on possible delays and cancellations will also be sent to passengers throughout the period. If a flight is unable to land at the scheduled destination due to unfavourable weather, the flight will be diverted to another airport. Passengers will be flown to their destinations at the earliest. If that is not possible, the passengers will be flown back to the departure station. In case of a flight cancellation, passengers will be accommodated on the next available Air Deccan flight. Passengers also have the option of availing themselves of a free flight reschedule (within a week from the original date of travel) or a full refund.
