Double standards of BJP exposed, says Congress

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: M. Ramachandrappa, general secretary, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, on Tuesday said that the two photos of Bharatiya Janata Party legislator M.P. Renukacharya in a compromising position with Jayalakshmi, a nurse, displayed in the electronic and print media had exposed the double standards practised by that party.

In a press release, the Congress leader took exception to the remarks made by Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa following the complaint lodged by Ms. Jayalakshmi with the police and demanded his resignation for pressuring the police not to take up a case against the legislator.

The BJP, he said, should stop making baseless allegations against Congress leaders to cover up the unbecoming behaviour of its leaders.
