TIRUPATI: The temple city of Tirupati is all set to gleam golden yellow as there is going to be galore of arches, buntings, banners and cut-outs for the TDP's Mahanadu slated to commence here on May 27. The decoration committee in-charge is planning to erect 25 arches at different vantage points in the town. Of this, 23 will represent the 23 districts of the State, each with a distinct name symbolising the landmark of the district concerned. The Chittoor district arch will be christened `Balaji Dwaram' symbolising the Tirumala temple and similarly the Kadapa district arch will be named `Veera Brahmendra Swamy Dwaram'. The Medak district arch gets the name as `Church of South India Dwaram' while the Hyderabad arch will depict Charminar . Of the rest of the two arches, one will be dedicated to the scion and founder of the party late N.T. Rama Rao and will carry the picture of a `pedavadi gudise' and the other will be dedicated to the memory of TDP leaders and cadres who sacrificed their lives for the cause of party programmes and agitations. It will be called the `Amara Veerula Dwaram'. According to Ashok Raju, convener of the Town Decoration Committee, a 90-ft cut-out each of N.T. Rama Rao and N. Chandrababu Naidu would be erected at the the Maha Nadu venue which is being christened as `NTR Pranganam'. This apart, 25 medium-sized cut-outs are also being erected at different points in the town to provide the required ambience to the party's 3-day political summit. We will also be erecting another 25 cut-outs of a unique design, he said and pointed out that the images of both NTR and Mr. Naidu could be seen on either side of the cut-outs. In all, 4,500 party banners and 800 Mahanadu banners would be put up.
