Prasenjit, Hemant, Jaydeep share lead

NEW DELHI: Delhi champion Prasenjit Dutta, Hemant Sharma and Jaydeep Sharma led with three points after as many rounds in the Delhi State rapid chess championship at the Amity International School, Saket, here.

Jaydeep upstaged fourth seed Deepak Rai in the second round and returned to account for fifth seed Gagan Chitkara to emerge the day's best performer.

The results: Third round: Prasenjit Dutta (3) bt Sandeep Singh (2); Navneet Sharma (2) lost to Hemant Sharma (3); Sandeep Chitkara (2.5) drew with Vaibhav Suri (2.5); Gagan Chitkara (2) lost to Jaydeep Sharma (3); Saket Kumar (1.5) lost to D.S. Negi (2.5); Ram Gupta (2.5) bt Jotish Roy (1.5).
