BHOPAL : Three persons, including a police constable, arrested in connection with the assault on the Madhya Pradesh correspondent of India Today Ambreesh Mishra and a friend late on Sunday night, were presented in court on Tuesday. Mr. Mishra and Pravin Sisodia were attacked with rods allegedly by policemen and anti-social elements after they protested against the behaviour of some persons who had gathered near a girls' hostel. Ms. Mishra and Ms. Sisodia had been teased at the same spot the previous night. Police constable Mahendra Pathak and Abhay Ojha were remanded to judicial custody. Owner of the hostel, Brajesh Shukla, the other accused, pleaded he needed medical attention and was admitted to a hospital. Assistant Sub-Inspector P.S. Singh was suspended for dereliction of duty. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan visited Mr. Mishra at the Jai Prakash Hospital here on Monday.
