Harinder shocks Adnan

CHENNAI: Harinderpal Singh from the ICL academy shocked second seed Nafiizwan Adnan 11-9, 11-6, 11-9 to enter the semifinals of the $3,000 NSC satellite tournament bring, organised by the Professional Squash Association, in Kuala Lumpur.

In a match that lasted 46 minutes, the Indian started slowly but soon kept Nafiizwan to the backcourt.

At 7-2 in the third game, Harinder seemed set to wrap up the match but Nafiizwan clawed his way back to 8-8. A forehand short kill saw Harinder on match ball and a weak drop into the tin by Nafiizwan sealed the match for Harinder.

Harinder will next play third seed Nafzahizam Adnan, brother of Nafiizwan. Earlier, Harinder had defeated sixth seed David Vidal.

The other Indians Naresh Kumar, Surbhi Misra and Anwesha Reddy did not make it past the first round.
