We should regain power in 2009: ex MP `Strive to regain power'

  • Congress accused of pocketing crores in name of `Jalayagnam'
  • `State adopting double standards in SCs' classification issue'

KADAPA: Telugu Desam Party observer for organisational elections and former Member of Parliament Gutha Sukhender Reddy on Tuesday called upon partymen to propagate the Government's failures."Regaining power in the 2009 elections should be our goal," he asserted at the TDP meeting here to elect a new district president. He charged Congress leaders with usurping thousands of crores of rupees in the name of `Jalayagnam' programme.

`Model Congress farmers' were chosen for Rythu Chaitanya Yatras and not the genuinely progressive farmers, he alleged.

    Krishna water

Krishna water was being diverted to cater to water needs of industries at the cost of farmers, he alleged.

By adopting double standards on SC classification, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was trying to create a rift between Mala and Madiga communities and incurring their wrath.

    Reservation

Former MP Parthasarathi suggested 50 per cent representation to SCs/STs and minorities and 40 per cent to youth in the silver jubilee year of TDP's inception.
