Jammu: The Jammu and Kashmir Health Minister Mangat Ram Sharma on Tuesday asked doctors to prepare a detailed report after conducting health survey of Kashmiri migrants, including women and children. Immediate action will be taken regarding improvement in upgradation in any area concerning their health after the recommendations are submitted to the government by the doctors, the minister said while speaking at a function after inaugurating health camp at Purkhoo migrant camp here this evening. Maintaining that health survey of the people, particularly those residing in unhygienic conditions, is imperative for providing upgraded healthcare facilities, Sharma said conducting research on health of these people is needed to diagnose the root-cause of various ailments. The free check-up camp for women and children was organised at Purkhoo migrant camp by Society for Universal Development of Human Aspects and Rehabilitation (SUDHAR), a non-governmental organisation (NGO). Appreciating the efforts of SUDHAR in creating awareness among women about importance of healthcare and timely treatment to curb the disease in infancy, Sharma said that voluntary social service of reputed doctors would prove quite beneficial for Kashmiri migrants. On providing modern and adequate medicare facilities to migrant community, the minister said that government has taken many bold decisions. -- PTI
