Pastor arrested

VIJAYAWADA: The Machavaram police arrested a pastor on the charge of stealing a bank ATM card from a retired schoolteacher and withdrawing Rs. 70,000. The police charged Tarunampudi Steven alias Tottaramudi Stephen (38) of Penumanchili village in West Godavari district with deceiving M. Narasimhacharyulu from Korukonda in the city on January 3 this year.

Stephen was charged with stealing the card in the guise of helping its owner withdraw money. Then he gave a discarded card to Mr. Narasimhacharyulu and kept the original card with him, the police said.
