The KWB was collecting Rs. 1,000 a year for every public tap and the TMC would bear all the expenses on public water taps. While the consumers would have to pay Rs. 2.5 for a litre of water for domestic connections, Rs. 4.5 was being collected from non-domestic connections, he said.
