BERHAMPUR: The city police unearthed a major storage unit of duplicate pan masala packets at Badabazar area on Tuesday. Four persons involved in the racket were arrested. Following complaints from major pan masals manufacturing houses of the country, the city police had to conduct raids to track down the persons behind the racket. Representatives of pan masala manufacturers from New Delhi had also pinpointed the godown at Nadia Burji of Badabazar market. A police team from Badabazar police station, led by its inspector in-charge, Krushna Prasad Patnaik, conducted the raid. A large haul of duplicate packets of premier brand pan masalas like `Sivdata' and `Gopal' were seized from the godown at the heart of the market. Four persons -- Prasad Rao, Hina Sahu, P. Raja Rao and Sivram Gouda of the city -- who were managing this trade of forged pan masala packets were arrested.
