BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa Government will infuse planning into urban centres coming up around industrial project areas in the state. Chairing a high level meeting at the state secretariat, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said a proper environment could be created around the projects if land was used systematically.
Special efforts
He said special efforts would be made to provide quality services to people who would be residing in the industrial townships. Two industrial area development authorities had been created in Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur to oversee the planning process, Mr. Patnaik said.
Special cell
The meeting decided to appoint two town planners for the purpose. Besides, a special cell had been opened in Urban Development department to keep track of the progress on this front, the chief minister said. Chief secretary Ajit Kumar Tripathy, development commissioner R. N. Bohidar and two collectors of Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur were present in the meeting.
