MYSORE: The Women Police have arrested Venkatesh, a Reader in the Department of Library Sciences, University of Mysore, Manasagangotri, following dowry harassment complaint from his wife Sudha Rudrappa, who is an assistant professor in paediatrics at K.R. Hospital-Mysore Medical College, here. He was produced in a city court. Dr. Sudha in her complaint filed before the Women Police, alleged that her husband was harassing her for more dowry. Dr. Sudha said she married Venkatesh about 13 years ago, and Rs. 1 lakh and gold jewellery was given to him as dowry at the time of the marriage. "In the recent past, he started harassing me for more dowry. It became impossible for me to withstand his harassment," she said. A case has been registered.
