Extremist arrested

THANJAVUR:
The `Q' Branch police, led by Rajendran, Deputy Superintendent of Police, here on Monday arrested a Tamil extremist Raja alias Ayyappan (43) of Keelapalam near Mannargudi.
He was wanted in many cases and absconding for the past 18 years.
According to the police, Ayyappan was wanted in connection with the bomb blast in Fort St. George in Chennai in 1990, a bank theft case at Mannargudi in 1994 and many other cases reported at Srirangam.
He was nabbed at the Ramanathan Hospital bus stand in Thanjavur town.
