Crafts fair in Alwarpet

CHENNAI: The Art and Craft Exposition's crafts fair at C.P.Art Centre in Alwarpet showcases the work of 35 artisans from Kolkata, New Delhi, Jaipur, Sarangpur and Bastar.

The 10-day exhibition, inaugurated on Sunday, has on display cool collections for summer and the festival season.

Look out for Kantha, ikat, pochampalli, appliqué patchwork, wooden articles, semi-precious gems and gold jewellery, terracotta items, Saura tribal paintings and iron metal crafts. The exhibition is open between 10 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. and a 20 per cent discount on handlooms and 10 per cent discount on handicrafts is offered.
