Driver killed, five injured in accident

BANGALORE: The driver of a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) on hire to Infosys Technologies was killed and five employees of the company were injured in a road accident on Residency Road in the early hours of Tuesday.

The police said that around 1.30 a.m. the MUV, in which the employees of Infosys Technologies were returning home from work, collided with another MUV near Ashirwadam junction. The MUV was on its way to Jalahalli from the Infosys facility in Electronics City.

The driver of the MUV, which was on hire to Infosys Technologies, D.M. Kumar (25) of Magadi, suffered serious head injuries and he died at NIMHANS.

Five employees, Riyaz Pasha, Sajivan, Sapthagiri, Riya Thomas and Divya Pai, were injured.
