BHOPAL: After concluding a ten-day foreign tour covering London and many cities in the United States of America to woo investors, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chauhan is optimistic that his latest confidence building exercise would deliver results. Talking to The Hindu on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that his main task during the tour was to build the image of Madhya Pradesh. Mr. Chauhan said that he has invited the industrialists and investors from London and America to participate in the Global Investors Summit to be held in the State capital in October. The Chief Minister said that during his discussions with captains of industry in London and America he conveyed to them that Madhya Pradesh, centrally-located and perfectly-connected, is the transport and logistic hub of India with 425 trains passing through the State every day. The State has 4885 kilometres of National Highway and good air connectivity. He also informed them of the development of infrastructure works being carried out. The Chief Minister added that he convey to them the fiscal and capital subsidy advantages of the State's industrial policy. He told them of the newly formed IT policy which offers several incentives to the investors. Mr. Chauhan said that it was a unique honour for the State as May 16 was declared `Madhya Pradesh Day' in St. Louis where he inaugurated a US-Indo Centre for Madhya Pradesh. The Centre would serve as a bridge between entrepreneurs from Madhya Pradesh and investors from America.
