CPI (M) plans fast for land distribution

Sangareddy: The district unit of CPI (M) has decided to exert pressure on the district administration for distribution of Government land to the poor by organising relay hunger strike from Thursday. Divisional secretary B. Mallesham would lead the fast along with other activists near the new bus stand here.

Medicine distributed

WARANGAL: With the help of Non-governmental organisation, the district police authorities distributed free home medicine to about 250 traffic personnel to beat the heat. At a function at the Hanamkonda police station, Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra gave away the medicine that helps prevent sunstroke. The medicines were provided by P. Free training courses for unemployed

HYDERABAD: The NICS Technical Service Centre, under its skill development programme, will conduct free training courses for unemployed candidates of Sangareddy. The courses include e-publishing, DTP, web-designing, hardware and refrigeration repairing. Residents of Sangareddy Municipality in 18-35 age group with minimum qualification of SSC and an annual income of less than Rs. 44,000 are eligible to apply. Candidates should apply by May 25 with two passport photos, copies of qualification and residential proof at NICS-TSC, Maharaja Complex, New Bus Stand, Sangareddy. ATM centre inaugurated

WARANGAL: University Vice-Chancellor V. Gopal Reddy inaugurated the ATM service of State Bank of Hyderabad here on the campus on Wednesday. A separate ATM has been set up in the examination branch building to serve the students and staff of the university. - Staff Reporter

Stone laid for sub station

Khammam: Minister for Vaidya Vidhana Parishad Vanama Venkateswar Rao on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for a Rs. 1 crore 33/11 kv sub station at Chandrugonda village. The sub station would help improve the power supply to 30 villages affected by low voltage problem. - Staff Reporter

YSR visits father's samadhi

PULIVENDULA (KADAPA DT.): Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy visited Y.S. Raja Reddy memorial park and the family's grave yard and placed a wreath on his father's samadhi on his ninth death anniversary on Wednesday.

KURNOOL: Two farmers committed suicide by consuming pesticide in Kurnool district on Wednesday. They were identified as B. Naik (50) of Mandlem in Jupadu Bungalow mandal and Laskhmanna (55) of Gosanipalli in Dhone mandal. — Special Correspondent

`Theatre art' camp

TIRUPATI: The two-month summer camp in `Traditional theatre art', conducted by TTD's Sri Venkateswara Nata Sikshanalayam (SVNS) at Mahati auditorium, is receiving an encouraging response.

The Sikshanalayam, formed last year, has theatre exponents and artistes of repute to train participants in mythological poems, songs, acting, Harmonium and Keyboard free of cost.

Age limit relaxed

GUNTUR: The Government has relaxed the minimum age of 18 years for disabled to get pension. It has issued G.O.
