Projects worth Rs. 1 crore launched at Kudli in Bhadravati taluk

  • Funds released under MPLADS, says Bangarappa
  • Manner of preparation of State Budget criticised

OFFICIAL LAUNCH: State president of the Samajwadi Party S. Bangarappa inaugurating development projects at Kudli of Bhadravati taluk in Shimoga on Wednesday.

SHIMOGA: State president of the Samajwadi Party S. Bangarappa has said that it is the responsibility of the State Government to implement development projects in villages so that the living standards of the people could be improved.

The Shimoga MP, who inaugurated a function to mark the launch of development projects worth Rs. 1 crore at Kudli near Holehonnur in Bhadravati taluk on Wednesday, said that he had made the allocation from the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme funds so that several development projects could be implemented, particularly in villages.

    Pace of projects

He said that the pace of the implementation of development projects could be accelerated if there was a single-party government and asked the people to keep this in mind while choosing their next government.

Mr. Bangarappa criticised the manner in which the State Budget had been prepared and said it violated the basic norms that were to be followed. "What is surprising is that the Budget has been appreciated by the president of the Janata Dal (Secular), H.D. Deve Gowda," Mr. Bangarappa said.

    Barrage

Hartalu Halappa, MLA for Hosnagar, who presided over the function, said that the construction of a barrage between Bhadrapur and Bullapur had been sanctioned and would be taken up soon.

Mr. Halappa said that two classrooms would be sanctioned under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan at Kudli.

    Memorandum

President of the Kudli Gram Panchayat Ramesh presented a memorandum to Mr. Bangarappa seeking sanction for development projects in areas covered by his panchayat.

President of the zilla panchayat Sharada Purya Naik urged elected representatives to make full use of the Suvarna Karnataka Gramodaya scheme for the development of village areas.

Member of the zilla panchayat Basavarajappa sought the opening of a junior college at Kudli.
