LUCKNOW: Ram Achal Rajbhar and Anand Sein Yadav were sworn in Ministers of State (independent charge) in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. They were administered the oath of office and secrecy by the Governor, T.V. Rajeswar at Raj Bhavan. Mr. Yadav, MLA from Milkipur in Faizabad district, was released on bail from Faizabad jail a couple of days back. He is an accused in a murder case. Mr. Yadav is the son of BSP Member of Parliament from Faizabad, Mitrasen Yadav. Samajwadi Party MLA from Swar Tanda in Rampur district Kazim Ali Khan alias Naved Mian resigned from the Vidhan Sabha and announced his decision to contest the by-election on a BSP ticket. With Mr. Khan's resignation the strength of the SP in the UP Assembly has been reduced to 95. Mr. Khan is the son of Begum Noor Bano, former Congress MP from Rampur. In a related development, Dharampal alias D.P. Yadav, MLA from Sarsawan and his wife Umlesh Yadav, MLA from Bisauli , both in Budaun district, pledged their support to Chief Minister Mayawati. Mr.Yadav announced the merger of his Rashtriya Parivartan Dal with the BSP. The Bharatiya Janshakti Party also merged with the BSP after its lone MLA decided to join the ruling party, raising their number in the House to 207. State Assembly Speaker Sukhdev Rajbahar approved the merger and recognised BJS MLA from Binawar (Badaun) Ram Sewak Singh Patel as a member of BSP. Mr. Patel had earlier announced at a news conference that he would join the BSP.
