Unbeaten 139 by Vasudevan

Chennai: S. Vasudevan made an unbeaten 139 as Elmaq Education defeated Santhome HSS `B' by 186 runs in the All India IOB-YSCA trophy tournament here recently.

The scores: Loyola College 173 for eight in 30 overs (Laksman Narayanan 53, Ashwin Venkatraman 42) lost to YSCA `A' 177 for seven in 28.1 overs (Ravikumar 58, R. Vasanthraj 43).

Elmaq 288 for four in 30 overs (S. Vasudevan 139 not out, Pradeep 62) bt Santhome `B' 102 in 22 overs (Varun 30, Vuvaraj 37).

Magnet 171 for nine in 30 overs (S. Palanivel 37) lost to Brindavan 177 for five in 28.2 overs.

Harihanth Pharmaceuticals 210 for nine in 30 overs (Karthik Raj 72) lost to Amar CC 211 for six in 29.4 overs (K. Subramanian 57, Pradeep 45).

20th Century Fox wins

20th Century Fox scored a two-run win over AG's Office in a SICGIL Trophy match here on Sunday.

The scores: 20th Century 144 in 29 overs (V. Murali 48) bt AG's Office 142 in 28.4 overs (N.P. Balaji 40).

TSC 230 for six in 30 overs (R.M. Sriram 101, Balaji 54) bt Book Sellers 122 in 18.1 overs (Santhana Rajkumar 53, David five for 60).

Harnath 78 in 24.4 overs lost to Magnet 82 for one in 9.2 overs.

S. Rly. in quarterfinals

Southern Railway (Chennai) defeated Madurai District Hockey Association 3-0 and entered the quarterfinals of the K.N. Subbaraj Memorial Trophy hockey tournament at Kovilpatti on Wednesday. Karthik, Arumugam and Mahendra Singh completed the tally.

In another match, Sarath Babu's goal helped Integral Coach Factory (Chennai) defeat Karnataka State Police 1-0 and enter the quarterfinals.

Salem in two finals

Salem moved into the final in both the boys' and girls' sections on Wednesday in the Tamil Nadu junior (under-18) inter-district basketball championship being hosted by the St. Joseph's College of Engineering, at Chennai.

The results: Boys: Semifinals: Salem bt Madurai 57-48; Dindigul bt Chennai 67- 53. Quarterfinals: Madurai bt Tirunelveli 43-20; Salem bt Trichy 88-39; Chennai 65 (Manav 10, Manoj 12) bt Coimbatore 62 (Guruprasad 14, Akilan 11); Dindugul bt Kancheepuram 77-70.

Girls: Semifinals: Salem 53 (Amudha 15, Indrapriya 10, Kananga 10) bt Dindigul 28 (Bhagyalakshmi 10); Chennai bt Cuddalore 29-12. Quarterfinals: Salem bt Kancheepuram 43-13; Dindigul bt Madurai 31-17; Cuddalore bt Tuticorin38-10; Chennai 51(Shobanapriya 10, Sowmya 10, Apoorva10) bt Erode 33 (Thamaraiselvi 10).

Chari & Natarajan win

S.K. Chari and K. Natarajan won the T Nagar Social Club Open Pairs event in Chennai on Tuesday with a score of 62.08 per cent sitting North-South. S. Prashanth and Guthi Rajasekar — won in East-West position with a score of 60.67 per cent.

Other results: North-South: 2. P. Sridhar and K.R Venkata Raman 59.88 per cent; 3. S. Krishnan and D.J. James 58.48 per cent; East-West: 2. A.K. Narasimhan and V. Ramkumar 58.68 per cent; 3. R. Raghavendra and R. Rajkumar 54.97 per cent.
