GHMC Commissioner inspects the area with senior officials

  • All encroachments to be removed on a priority basis
  • Vehicle for filling potholes to be made operational soon

HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Commissioner C.V.S.K. Sarma has cleared a whopping Rs. 70 crore worth of civic works in L.B.N agar circle area for improving roads, sewerage, parks etc.

Sarma, who inspected the area on Wednesday along with local legislator M. Ranga Reddy and senior officials, directed Deputy Municipal Commissioner Satyanarayana to take up road widening works from two arterial roads linking Sagar Road, B.N. Reddy Nagar junction to Sushma Junction NH 9 i.e. Vijayawada Highway via Vydehinagar and road to Kamineni Hospital to Saroornagar Indoor Stadium road.

The polluted Kuntlur lake is on line for a clean up with the Commissioner being told that all the sewerage water from the colonies is being let into it. He sanctioned Rs. 10 crore for a sewer link to the Musi at Nagole where an affluent treatment plant is coming up.

    Enforcement wing

Pointing out that he had observed debris being thrown indiscriminately at all places on the roads, he directed local officials to open an enforcement wing, serve notices and impose penalties on those indulging in such activities. Open spaces should be enlisted for development as parks and playgrounds, he said.

All encroachments on roadsides and colonies should be removed on a priority basis.

A vehicle with hot mix should be made operational every day for filling up potholes in all places. Hawkers' zones can be implemented as was being done in erstwhile MCH limits.

The Commissioner also urged Mr. Ranga Reddy to scour the possibility of rehabilitating beggars for making L.B. Nagar Circle beggar free. Earlier, Mr. Satyanarayana gave a presentation on the state of civic amenities and services being offered in the circle.
