HYDERABAD: Inspectors of Falaknuma and Moghalpura police stations, P. Sudhakar and E. Ramachandra Reddy, respectively, have been transferred on Wednesday in the backdrop of allegations that police firing near the Mecca Masjid on last Friday was unjustified.

Five persons died when the police opened fire to control irate mobs, which went on a rampage following the bomb explosion in Mecca Masjid leaving nine persons dead in the old city.

The two Inspectors were transferred since they were posted at the place where the police opened fire.
