HYDERABAD: A special team of the Karnataka police will arrive in city on Thursday to assist the city police in the investigation into the Mecca Masjid blast case. An officer of the rank of Additional DG will head the Karnataka police team. The information which the Karnataka police had gathered in connection with the terrorist attack on the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, is believed to be useful for their counterparts in Andhra Pradesh in tracking the culprits behind the blast case. They will visit the blast site and interact with the city police top brass.
Reward announced
The Government on Wednesday announced that persons providing information leading to the arrest and detection of persons involved in the bomb blast in Mecca Masjid would be rewarded up to Rs. 5 lakh. Identity of the informants would be kept secret, the Government assured. Those intending to pass on information can ring up telephone numbers 91 9490 616 799 or 040 2785 3749 at anytime.
Video cameras
The city police have installed video cameras and door frame metal detectors at the Mecca Masjid and other important mosques in the city to keep surveillance on suspicious persons. Hand held detectors have also been made available for personnel deployed for anti sabotage checks at these places, said a press release.
