Held for black marketing

KOCHI: The Railway Protection Force arrested one person on charges of selling train tickets in the black market. Bhavesh Sharath Sha, 26, of Mattanchery, was arrested with 12 reserved tickets on various trains worth Rs.14,102, six filled up reservation forms, 10 blank forms and Rs.10,940 in cash in his possession. He was arrested from railway reservation office premises on Wednesday. The accused was currently under trial for the same offence charged last year. The case was going on at Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court. On Wednesday, he was presented before Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ernakulam. The accused was arrested as part of the special drive to counter black-marketing during summer when the traffic is expected to increase.

Reception to

Chief Justice

KOCHI: Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court H.L. Dattu was given a reception at a Full Court Reference held on Wednesday at the Kerala High Court.

Justice H.L. Dattu had been transferred from the Chattisgarh High Court. Senior Judge K.S. Radhakrishnan, Advocate General C.P. Sudhakara Prasad and Kerala High Court Advocates' Association president M.P. Krishnan Nair spoke.

KOCHI: Minister for Forests Binoy Viswam will inaugurate a workshop on environmental problems in villages at Cochin University of Science and Technology on May 31. The event is being organised by the Centre for Science Communication and Rajiv Gandhi Chair on the campus. — Staff Reporter
