Good show by CBSE and ICSE students in city

Many schools register 100 per cent pass

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Schools in the city have posted good results in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Council of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations. The results were declared over Tuesday and Wednesday.

Christ Nagar Senior Secondary School, Thiruvallom, registered 100 per cent pass in the CBSE class 12 examinations. Of the 79 students who appeared for the examinations from the school, 46 passed with distinction, while the remaining secured first class. J. Anand Kumar came top in the school scoring 93 per cent marks. Reshmi Narayanan Raju came second with 92 per cent.

The 188 students who appeared for the examinations from the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Kodunganoor, passed, 69 of them with distinction and 83 with first class. In the biology group, Kaushik Rajagopal came on top, scoring 95.8 per cent, while Sneha Sangeevani and Nandita Nair topped computer science and commerce groups, scoring 94.2 per cent each.

At Arya Central School, Pattom, all students in the science group passed. Of the 240 students who wrote the examinations, 101 scored above 85 per cent marks. While 184 students secured distinction, 49 secured first class and seven second class. S. Indu and Senthil Meena who scored 474 marks each emerged on top in the school.

Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, posted a pass percentage of 97. As many as 145 students secured distinction. Akhila Kesavaswami and Nikhil Raj secured 100 per cent marks in mathematics. In the science stream, V. Preethi came on top, scoring 97.4 per cent. Arcana Selvaraj with 95.8 per cent emerged second. In the commerce group, the top student was P. Lakshmi, who scored 96.6 per cent, while the second place went to Sushmi Mohan with 93.8 per cent.

In humanities, Asha Ajith scored 92 per cent to come on top, while S.R. Janaky, who scored 88 per cent marks, came second.

According to a press note issued by the Principal, the number of students who scored A-1 in various subjects has increased manifold from those in the previous years.

At St. Mary's Residential Central School, Poojappura, all 62 students who appeared passed. Roshan J. Pradeepam and Rema Shama who scored 92 per cent marks emerged on top. At Mother India International Residential Public School and Dr. G.R. Public School, all students who appeared for the examinations passed. At the Dr. G.R. school, 13 students each got distinction and first class, and one got second class.

Jawahar Public Senior Secondary School secured 100 per cent pass. Of the 17 candidates who appeared, three secured distinction and the remaining first class.

ICSE, ISC

At the Holy Angels' ISC School, all 144 students who appeared for the ICSE examinations passed, 120 of them with distinction and 22 with first class. Aksa Susan Koshy came on top, scoring 95.6 per cent marks, while Anjana S. Kumar and Radhika Rajan came second, scoring 95.2 per cent.

In the ISC examinations, Poornima K. Nair secured the highest marks (96 per cent), while Vibha Pant and B. Anusha shared the second spot, scoring 95.4 per cent each. In the commerce stream, V. Parvathy emerged on top, scoring 95 per cent marks, while Neha Varma emerged second, scoring 88.4 per cent marks.

All the 111 students from the school who appeared for the examinations passed. While 77 students scored distinction, 30 secured first class.

At the Christ Nagar Higher Secondary School, 115 of the 122 students who appeared for the ICSE examinations secured distinction, while seven secured first class. Rahul Sreekumar, who scored 96.57 per cent marks, came on top. In the ISC examinations, 93 of the 107 students who appeared got distinction, while 14 secured first class. L. Arathi, who scored 95.25 marks, emerged on top.
