Special Correspondent
Puducherry: The Directorate of Education has set in motion the process of admission to the Class XI during 2007-2008 academic year in Government schools in Puducherry and Karaikal regions. Director of Education G. Ragesh Chandra said in a release here that the schools started issuing application forms on Thursday. Students intending to go in for the Plus Two course should get the forms from the institutions and submit them separately in each of the schools they prefer. Students were at liberty to submit the forms in as many schools as they wanted. As soon as the Class X (SSLC or Matriculation) public examination was released, the schools would issue mark sheets and other certificates. Students should submit photocopies of the certificates with the applications. Last date to submit the forms is May 30 and no applications would be accepted if submitted after the last date. Interviews would be held from June 4. There are 42 Government-run higher secondary schools in Puducherry and Karaikal and they adopt the Tamil Nadu pattern of curriculum. There is no separate Higher Education or Secondary Education Board in Puducherry.
