CSB net profit up by 210%

THRISSUR: The net profit of the Catholic Syrian Bank (CSB) rose to Rs.19.07 crore in 2006-2007 against Rs.6.14 crore in 2005-2006, registering 210 per cent growth.

The annual results of the bank were declared here on Wednesday.

The board of directors recommended 15 per cent dividend. The operating profit of the bank rose to Rs.62.64 crore (against Rs.36.99 crore in 2005-2006), the net interest income to Rs.164.54 crore (against Rs.146.94 crore), total deposits to Rs.4,748.60 crore (against Rs. 4,288.85 crore) and net advances to Rs.3,012.64 crore (against Rs.2,694.87 crore). Capital to risk assets ratio (CRAR) was 9.58 per cent, crossing the RBI stipulated ratio of 9 per cent.

Percentage of net NPA to net advances was brought down to 1.98 per cent (against 2.78 per cent), the bank said.
