Staff Correspondent

Bidar: The Government will provide free bus pass to journalists in rural areas, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said here on Thursday.

"I am told that such a facility is being provided by some States. It helps journalists to travel along the countryside and highlight the problems of poor and deprived people," he said.

He was speaking after inaugurating the 28th State-level convention of Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ).

He sanctioned a site for the construction of a convention hall for KUWJ in Bidar.
