Ernakulam colleges bag most ranks

KOTTAYAM: Girls bagged 22 out of the 24 top ranks in eight subjects in the B.Sc. examinations of Mahatma Gandhi University held during March.

Colleges in Ernakulam took 15 ranks while Kottayam bagged eight and Pathanamthitta one. According to a university press note, pass percentage was 89, with 3,628 first classes and 834 second classes. A total of 5,419 students had appeared for the final examinations.

The following are the first-rank holders in various disciplines: Statistics: N Sreelakshmi (974 marks), SS College, Kalady; Geology: George T Mathew (913), Government College, Kottayam; Zoology: P K Neena (964), SS College, Kalady; Botany: Soumya Murali (972), SH College, Thevara; Chemistry: Jerry Alfred Ferraro (987), Cochin College, Kochi.

Physics: Nisha G Kamath (988), St Theresas College for Women, Ernakulam; Mathematics: Tasnim T R (999), St Aquinas College, Edakochi; Family and Community Sciences: Neethu K Oommen (911), Assumption College, Changanassery.

The last date for submitting applications for scrutiny and or revaluation of answer scripts is June 23.
