Transport Commissioner asked to appear before court

Thiruvananthapuram:
First Class Judicial Magistrate, Thiruvananthapuram, M. Ahmed Koya has directed State Transport Commissioner Ramesh Chandrabanu to appear before the court on June 16 in connection with a case regarding misuse of red beacons on Government vehicles.
The order was issued on a writ petition filed by the human rights activist Jomon Puthenpurackal stating that many including Chairman of the Human Rights Commission N. Dinakar, Commission members, Chief Information Commissioner Palat Mohandas and Director General of Prosecutions P.G. Thampy were using red beacons violating the norms.
