NEW DELHI: A Delhi police assistant sub-inspector and a head constable posted with the Hari Nagar police station were arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 30,000 from a woman to settle a false complaint against her. The Hari Nagar Station House Officer has been sent to the lines. The woman had complained to the CBI alleging that a property dealer had lodged a false complaint against her with the Hari Nagar police station recently over a business dispute. Subsequently, ASI Sukhdev Singh summoned her to the police station and even though she refuted the charges, he and Head Constable Mahender, who worked as the reader of the area SHO, allegedly demanded Rs. 30,000 from her to settle the matter. The CBI verified the facts and then laid the trap .
