Counsel for the two informed about the development to Justice Gita Mittal of the Court when she took up for hearing an application by Dr. Trehan seeking his impleadment in a suit of 2005 asking for restoration of the Institute to its original status of a charitable trust.
Agreeing to the desire of both the parties to go for an out-of-court settlement, Ms. Justice Mittal adjourned the matter till next Tuesday.
She observed that both the parties must work for an amicable settlement in the interest of suffering patients. Supporters of Dr. Trehan had on Wednesday filed an application seeking constitution of a court committee to oversee the running of the Institute till the matter pending before it was decided.
They alleged that the Institute's management was not implementing the orders of the Court passed last Friday.
