BANGALORE: Three persons were killed in road accidents, two of which involved BMTC buses, in the city on Thursday. According to police, Krishnaiah Shetty (57), who was walking on B.P. Wadia Road, was mowed down by the BMTC bus around 11.15 a.m. The police said that Krishnaiah Shetty was a resident of Hanumanth Nagar. In another accident involving a BMTC bus, Manu Biswas, a native of Bihar, was killed on the spot in front of Ramakrishna Ashram around 4.30 p.m. The police said that Biswas was riding a two-wheeler when the bus rammed him. The Basavanagudi traffic police have registered the two cases and have arrested the drivers. In Rajajinagar, a motorist was killed because of rash driving by the driver of a bus belonging to an information technology company. The police said the bus rammed two two-wheelers from behind at a traffic junction near Bhashyam Circle in Rajajinagar on Thursday, injuring Shashikanth (22) and Srinath (32). A badly injured Shashikanth was pronounced dead after he was brought to a private hospital in the vicinity. The police said that Srinath had received severe head injuries. The Magadi traffic police have registered a case in this connection and are investigating.
