LONG INNINGS: The Canberra aircraft touching down at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal.

HYDERABAD: The Canberra aircraft that served the Indian Air Force (IAF) for over five decades, was phased out, after one of the aircraft was flown from Agra to the Air Force Academy at Dundigal on Friday.

The aircraft was flown to the academy by Wing Commanders G. K. Jaiswal (pilot) and R. S. Panwar (navigator). Commandant Air Vice Marshal Dhiraj Kukreja, AVSM VSM, and other senior officers gave a ceremonial reception to the flying machine. In the 50 years of its operations, many frontline combat squadrons of the Indian Air Force have flown the versatile Canberra.
