HESCO tie-up with TamilNadu rural varsity

DEHRA DUN: The Gandhigram Rural University of Tamil Nadu has recognised the Dehra Dun-based Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organisation (HESCO) as a collaborative institution for enabling scholars to take up research in fields of mutual interest.

Announcing this here over the weekend, Vice-Chancellor T. Karunakaran said the collaboration was expected to yield good results as both Uttarakhand and Tamil Nadu have a diverse variety of climatic zones and vegetation.

Dr. Karunakaran said the Lantana furniture and multi-utility water mills developed by HESCO would soon be introduced as a project to uplift the lot of the poor in select areas of Tamil Nadu.
