Special Correspondent

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government on Saturday agreed in principle

to take part in a joint venture for setting up a High Speed Rail Corridor between Delhi and Chandigarh which will halve the travelling time between the two cities to just about 90 minutes.

This was decided at a meeting in New Delhi between Haryana Chief Secretary Prem Prashant and Railway Board Chairman J.P. Batra.

The Chief Secretary disclosed that a joint forum would also be formed for studying the modalities and feasibility of this elevated High Speed Rail Corridor which would cost around Rs. 25,000 crore excluding land. The corporation would act as the project development nodal agency.
