Direct temple entry for women with babies

They can get direct entry through a special gate which will be opened every two hours

TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) management is providing direct entry to the temple for mothers with children below one year for darshan of the Lord.

The TTD board of trustees, which met here last week, had resolved to introduce special darshan facilities to mothers with infants. TTD Board Chairman B. Karunakar Reddy formally launched the programme on Saturday morning.

Special gate

Later speaking to media persons, Mr. Reddy said that under the programme, women with infants would be given entry into the temple complex through a special gate meant for the physically challenged and aged persons.

He said that the mothers would be allowed entry once every two hours. Hundreds of woman availed themselves of the opportunity.
