Award for Malayala Manorama

NEW DELHI: The Malayalam daily Malayala Manorama has won the Indira Gandhi Paryavaran Award for 2004 for its `Pala Thulli' (many a drop) campaign. Instituted by the Union Environment and Forests Ministry, the award carries a silver trophy, a citation and a cash prize of Rs. five lakh. The newspaper was selected by a seven-member jury headed by Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. The award will be presented here on June 5 — World Environment Day.
