Isolated rain likely in coastal Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, south interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, coastal and north interior Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over Telangana.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres:-

Kozha (Kottayam dt) 6, Belgaum Airport 5, Barur (Krishnagiri dt), Kodaikanal, Bangalore and Nelamangala (Bangalore Rural dt) 4 each, Walajapet (Vellore dt), Yemmigennur (Kurnool dt), Chamrajnagar, Gowribidanur (Kolar dt) and Quilandy (Kozhikode dt) 3 each, Arakonam and Sholinghur (both Vellore dt).Hanamakonda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44 degre Celsius in the region.

Forecast (Valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Kerala and at a few places over interior Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
