MANGALORE: Janata Dal (Secular) is a party with no scruples Rajya Sabha member B. Janardhana Poojary has said. Mr. Poojary told presspersons here on Saturday that the decision of Janata Dal (S) to field a Muslim candidate in the byelection had exposed the party. He said that Janata Dal (S) did not have secular credentials. The party stood exposed particularly when it had joined hands with BJP to defeat Congress. But the people of Ullal would defeat that party, he added. On the statement of Minister for Labour Iqbal Ansari that the JD(S) would not hand over power to BJP at the end of its 20-month tenure, Mr. Poojary said it was a part of a drama that both BJP and Janata Dal (S) were playing to fool the voters. They wanted to show that they were fighting independently in Ullal, Mr. Poojary added.
