VELLORE: Trekking and sports competitions, mountain bike race, singing competition, healthy baby contest, `karagattam,' tribal dance programmes, drama, food festival, leather products exhibition, dog show, entertainment programme by television fame Vadivel Ganesh and rural folk arts programmes form the highlights of the 2-day summer festival to be organised in Yelagiri Hills on June 9 and 10.
Exhibition
According to a release from Vellore Collector Dharmendra Pratap Yadav, a multi-departmental exhibition highlighting the achievements of the various government departments would be one of the salient features of the exhibition. Cultural programmes by famous artists and screening of film shows by the Information and Public Relations Department have also been arranged during the festival. Besides, free medical camps would be conducted during the festival.
Special buses
The Collector said special buses would be operated to Yelagiri Hills from different parts of Vellore and Tiruvannamalai districts on both days of the festival. Arrangements have also been made for the supply of drinking water and uninterrupted power supply during the 2-day festival.
