TIRUPATI: Thanks to the photo exhibition arranged as part of the TDP Mahanadu, many senior party workers recollected the nostalgic moments in the life of N.T.Rama Rao that led to the formation of the party. The expo has a number of rare photographs and larger-than-life cutouts of NTR, both as an actor and as the founder of the Telugu Desam Party. Enough care has been evidently taken to see that `equal attention' is paid to the current party president, N.Chandrababu Naidu, also, both as a flag-bearing party worker and later as the Chief Minister. Starting from his maiden film `Mana Desam', there are rare stills from NTR's films of the 1950s such as `Palletoori Pilla' (1950), `Pathala Bhairavi' (1951), `Chandra Haram' (1953), `Thodu Dongalu' (1954), etc. that shot him to fame in the film world. Sripathi Rajeshwar, president of the All India NTR Fans Association, provided his `prized possession' for the expo. Similarly, the yellow bicycle used by NTR during his campaign is also attracting a number of people. Srikalahasti-based P.R.Mohan, an ardent fan of NTR, has offered to keep it on display. On the political side, there are a number of photographs of NTR addressing public meetings in the coastal districts during the party's launch. There are photos of NTR sharing the dais with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, `friendly neighbours' like M.G. Ramachandran, Ramakrishna Hegde, etc. that shows the clout that he wielded across the State's borders. On Mr Chandrababu Naidu, beginning from his days as a party worker, the series of photos show his growth as a Minister, then Chief Minister and then striking a pose or two with leaders such as Microsoft chief Bill Gates, former US President Bill Clinton, former PLO chief Yasser Arafat, the then UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Prime Minister of Japan Yoshiro Mori, etc. Unravelling his `philosophical' side, there are photographs showing Mr Naidu with spiritual leaders like the Dalai Lama, Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Baba Ramdev, Sri Sri Ravishankar, etc. A number of senior delegates, associated with the party since its inception, were present at the expo engrossed in watching the photos of their beloved leader!
