NEW DELHI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Monday justified the controversial Government Order placing restriction against media, conceding it was withdrawn under intense pressure. "There was nothing wrong with the GO. It was withdrawn because of the hue and cry. I never said I did not see or sign the order, only I was not aware when it was issued,'' Dr. Reddy said in response to questions about a news report that the order had his sanction. During February this year, the Reddy Government issued a GO designating the Commissioner of Information and Public Relations as the nodal agency for launching prosecutions and defamatory cases against the print and electronic media. It came in the wake of criticism against the Government for moving against Eenadu group.
