ZCA (North) posts 402

Bangalore: Zonal Cricket Academy (ZCA) North piled 402 in its first innings against ZCA (East) on the second day of the Col. Hemu Adhikari Trophy NCA inter-academy cricket tournament here.

The scores: ZCA (North) 402 in 130.3 overs (Virat Kohli 106, Taruwar Kohli 83, Pradeep Sangwan 46) vs. ZCA (East) 17 without loss in seven overs.

ZCA (South) 313 in 103.5 overs (Abhinav Mukund 93, Manish Pandey 76, Vamsi Krishna 42 not out, Iqbal Abdula four for 60, Srikanth Munde four for 87) vs. ZCA (West) 92 for one in 27 overs (Harshad Khadiwala 63 batting).

Golf tournament

The Bangalore Golf Club-Indian Golf Union junior and sub-junior tournament will be held at the BGC Course here from May 29 to June 1. The competition will be stepped up a notch with the inclusion of top-ranked teenager Rahul Bakshi in the `A' category.

Chikkarangappa, who emerged on top in both `A' and `B' categories will be looking forward to extend his winning streak, while Amanjyot Singh and Rommel Majumdar will be keen to improve on their showing at Eagleton last week.

On Tuesday, youngsters from `A', `B' and `C' categories will tee off from the first and 10th holes while `D' category golfers will play three rounds (54 holes) as usual. The juniors in `A' and `B' category are not allowed to use caddies and will have to tote their own golf bags around the course.

South India equestrian

Embassy International Riding School will conduct a South India equestrian championship from May 30 to June 3.

"Equest 2007" will have a number of Show Jumping and Dressage events throughout the day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a break for lunch.

A number of teams from South India including army teams will take part in the championship. Special events like the Pas de Deux (Dressage in pairs), Pas de Quatre (Dressage in fours), the lead rein dressage for tiny tots, gymkhana games for children and a thrill for spectators — a fancy dress parade on horseback are all part of the five-day programme.
